Guangzhou and Hebei, China, December 11, 2020 — On November 21, 2020, MicroPort® NeuroTech brought together leading neurointerventional experts at the NUMEN™ Coil Launch Events in Guangzhou and Hebei to share the latest academic insights with the medical device community.
The NUMEN™ Coil is for the treatment of cerebral aneurysms (also known as brain aneurysms) and features a unique tri-modal Ω+S configuration, ensuring a balance between flexibility and stability within aneurysm filling.
The Guangzhou launch event was moderated by Prof. Chuanzhi Duan from the Zhujiang Hospital of Southern Medical University (SMU) and featured presentations by Prof. Guozhong Zhang from the Southern University of SMU and Prof. Xin Zhang from the Zhujiang Hospital of SMU. The speakers shared their clinical experiences with the application of the NUMEN™ Coil in presentations titled “Clinical experience of NUMEN™ Coil applications”, and “Application of NUMEN™ Coil in the endovascular intervention of intracranial aneurysm: lessons learned”, respectively.
Since its launch in October 2020, the NUMEN™ Coil has been highly recognized by physicians and experts for its stable positioning, dense embolization and excellent clinical performance. MicroPort® NeuroTech will continue to provide superior “all-in-one” cerebrovascular solutions to better safeguard the lives and wellbeing of patients.
Prof. Xin Zhang highly appraised the safety offered by NUMEN™ thanks to its softer primary wires and lower aneurysm wall pressure than comparable products. According to Prof. Xin Zhang, “multiple cases of NUMEN™ application in the treatment of aneurysms show that the NUMEN™ coils are soft to the touch and do not have kick-back effects while allowing easy insertion, particularly at the finishing stage.” He concluded that NUMEN™ could be used as the preferred treatment option for ruptured aneurysms and microaneurysms.
In his wrap-up remarks, Prof. Duan mentioned that the NUMEN™ Coil, with its wide selection of dimensions and models, offers superior performance in all aspects and provides powerful support to clinicians in treating aneurysms and, together with them, safeguards patients’ lives and wellbeing.
The Hebei Event was moderated by Prof. Jianliang Wu from the Second Hospital of Hebei Medical University (HMU), who fully recognized the performance of NUMEN™ Coil and hoped it could provide more treatment options for clinicians to safeguard the lives and wellbeing of patients. He also expressed his hope that this event would contribute to the development of neurointervention in Hebei province, practically address clinical problems and provide better medical support to patients.
The MicroPort® NeuroTech NUMEN™ Coil Launch Event in Hebei was held under the theme “Stability, Reliability and Protection”. Prof. Xiaodong Wu, Prof. Guiyang Tang, Prof. Hailong Gu, Prof. Shuangju Ma, and Prof. Xiaomeng Liu, professors from the Second Hospital of HMU, shared with the audience wonderful case studies using rich case data combined with detailed explanation and analyses.
